Procurement Function of HRM? Importance, Types and Roles: Procurement can be defined as the operational function of the HRM department where they procure and employ individuals and goods who adequately fits the position and possesses the required set of features. It can be things like attitude, mindset, and knowledge in the case of staff, while goods should have required quality for fulfilling the job adequately.

Here, the HRM department won’t perform the procurement directly and uses a recruitment company or an outside vendor for completing this process. There are many cases where a management company performs these things.

If we talk about services procurement, it involves employing temporary staffers and using short-term vendors to fulfill a company’s goals properly. Contracted employees is the major example of services procurement.
